GREEN HOUSES

Enactus Lambton has helped build four greenhouses in three First Nations. These Nations have realized how critical growing and harvesting their own food is to their long-term wellbeing, as a number of Nations were cut off from food sources during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic due to supply chain issues.

The greenhouses are also part of each Nation’s plan to create new lines of revenue and create new jobs for community members, working towards ensuring financial security. Further, the initial four greenhouses will serve as training and development facilities where land-based learning programs will be utilized for the education of women and youth in the community.
